Within the framework of EU Directives and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), evaluate the accounting impacts for administrative expenses and fee income. Formulate recommendations on process optimisations and accounting policies. Carry out regular controls to ensure the accuracy of administrative expenses and fee income in the financial statements of the EIB Group.
You will work in autonomy but as well in close co-operation with the entire Department and other services inside and outside the EIB Group.
Execute accounting, control and reporting processes in the area of accounts payable, accounts receivable, HR related transactions, external offices and VAT;
Deliver on payment process for administrative expenses including HR related transactions;
Contribute to the communication of accounting and payment related strategies, policies and procedures throughout the organisation and drive cross-directorate process improvement projects;
Handle inquiries from internal and external stakeholders and provide solutions to enable efficient completion of the accounting, payment and control processes;
Execute regular review and updating of procedure manuals and the Internal Control Framework affecting business processes in own domain;
Maintain external and internal relations relating to financial accounting;
Provide guidance and support to more junior staff.
University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related fields. An internationally recognised professional accounting qualification would be an advantage;
At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role, gained in a multinational organization or a major audit firm;
Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and European Directives on accounting standards;
Experience in process optimization in the area of accounting and administration;
Knowledge of software applications such as PeopleSoft Financials (GL, AP, AR), Business Objects, Wall Street Suite;
Proficient knowledge of MS Excel and ideally VBA;
Fluent in English and/or French (*) and a very good knowledge of the other language; Knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage;
Experience in driving and monitoring work performed by more junior staff would be an advantage.
